Showing up with excuses?
I ran across a clients story that I want to share in this post, as it relates to the main issue with the process. Showing up uninformed and not understanding the process, this is why most people citizens pay the fine and take the premium hits with insurance companies.
This is a story of a driver that knew he was not speeding, it was definitely some other vehicle or false reading from the radar device. He was in heavy traffic, surrounded by other vehicles, with heavy signage. He grabbed my attention with his opening and it is a perfect story.
This is the entire reason for THESPEEDSTAR.COM. Many drivers are given citations yearly for not speeding and they have no clue that they do not have to pay this ticket, they have the civil right to challenge every ticket that is given to them. It is the process which you are constitutional owed as a citizen of the United States.
It is easier to pay some say, until the fine gets to be too much. Now you want to fight it. Let me fill you in on some information, ticket fines and premiums keep going up year after year, and states continue to find new ways to add new fines, new fees, new court costs, and they will never go down.

Back to the story, the driver knew he was not speeding as their were other cars passing him, and plenty of traffic, but the officer decided to pick him out of all the drivers and issue him the citation. Whether it was for the vehicle he was driving, the color, who knows, and honestly who cares.
The driver took the ticket, checked the back of it stating he was not guilty, and now had an appearance to show up in court. Unfortunately for him that is all the preparation that he did.
This would be similar to student showing up to a college final without knowledge of the subject or material that the final test would be covering. 9 times out of 10 this student will fail the test, but their is always that 1% chance that the student will squeeze through the cracks and pass the test with a passing grade, but this is rare.
This driver strolled into court with no preparation, and zero ammunition, and trust you me the court had all of its ammunition and was fully prepared for this person.
This is actually where I started losing it, I could just picture what happened when they called his name.
I asked, “What happened?”
He said, “The judge asked him what his evidence is and how he would like to state his case?”
The driver said, “I do not have any evidence, I just know I was not speeding.”
The courtroom erupted in laughter and he said he got a laugh out of it as well, I was personally rolling at this point. I pictured him being called up and asked to present some sort of anything and in turn he had nothing.
Long story short, the judge pounded the gavel and declared him guilty, called the next case, and he was escorted out with a bill to pay. The courts will not waste any time on someone who is unprepared, and who has nothing to show that is of any value to their innocence.
